In a dramatic incident that unfolded in Atlanta, a suspect opened fire on a police officer during a foot chase. The confrontation began when officers were searching for a suspect known as “f pack” in a local area. The suspect, upon being spotted, fled on foot, leading officers on a chase down P Tree and Right Street.
The officer in pursuit relayed real-time updates over the radio, stating, “I got him, I got him,” as they closed in on the suspect. However, the situation escalated when the suspect turned and fired shots at the pursuing officer. The officer urgently reported, “Shots fired, shots fired! He just shot at me!”
The suspect continued to run, eventually seeking cover behind a building. Despite the immediate danger, the officer pursued and ultimately apprehended the suspect. The officer was able to give a detailed location of the confrontation, ensuring backup could arrive promptly.
Once captured, the suspect was found to have a bullet wound to his right forearm. The officer, despite being shot at, was unharmed and managed to take the suspect into custody without further incident. During the arrest, the officer demanded the suspect put his hands up and get on the ground, securing him until additional officers arrived.
